A police standoff and barricade situation that began on Christmas night in Chester County and lasted several hours finally ended when the SWAT negotiator sang a Christmas carol to the suspect. The Delaware Department of Correction announced on Wednesday that an inmate had escaped from a facility on Christmas Day. 31-year-old David Succarote climbed over the perimeter fence of the Plummer Community Corrections Center in Wilmington. A young firefighter lost her life Christmas morning in a single-car crash in Hamilton Township, Atlantic County. It happened around 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, 12/25, on Landis Avenue, west of Estelle Avenue. 21-year-old Natalie Dempsey was responding to a call as a member of the Mizpah Volunteer Fire Department. Two workers were rescued after a building collapsed in North Philadelphia on Friday morning, 12/21. It happened just after 11:30 a.m. on Ridge Avenue and Vineyard Street near Girard Ave. The men were in an excavation site next to a vacant building when a wall from the building came crashing down and trapped them.
