A man accused of shooting his girlfriend in front of their newborn daughter last week has turned himself into police on Monday, 12/17. 32-year-old Tyrese Lynch surrendered to Philadelphia police around noon. The shooting happened around 4 a.m. Friday, 12/14, inside a home on the 6300 block of North Woodstock Street in the Belfield neighborhood. Police say they believe Lynch shot and killed 24-year-old Isis Williams while their 5-day-old girl was in the crib a few feet away. The baby was not hurt. Lynch fled the scene. There was no forced entry but there were signs of a struggle and neighbors heard an argument. Williams' aunt, Aspara Agyeman, said that Isis was on the phone with her mother at the time and she heard the shots. The baby is now in the aunt's care. A GoFundMe has been set up to help with funeral costs. There will be a vigil tonight at 7pm outside Williams' home.

UPDATE: Lynch has been charged with Murder, VUFA-Former Convict, Endangering Welfare and related offenses in the killing of Isis Williams.

Pieces from a nativity scene that were stolen from a display at the Italian market in South Philadelphia have been returned. It happened just after midnight on Saturday. Surveillance video shows a man pull up to the scene on the 900 Montrose Street in front of the Frank Rizzo mural. He then takes baby Jesus, Mary, and Joseph (leaving the rest) back to his car and drives away. The missing pieces were recovered on Sunday, 12/16. Police continue to investigate.

A Delaware County plumber was shot and killed in an alley in Colwyn on Sunday night, 12/16. It happened around 6 p.m. on the 200 block of Francis Street. Frank Powell, in his late 50's, had just finished a job and had returned to the company's garage. Surveillance video shows Powell get out of his truck and walk towards the back and into the garage. That's went a man approached him and shot him twice. The man then walked off in an unknown direction. The actual shooting was not captured on video. Police do not have a motive for this ambush. No arrests have been made. His older brother Joe Rodgers said, "Whoever this person is that shot him, I pray for you. But they will find you. You just took a persons life, not only did you hurt him but you hurt his family too. God knows who you are."
