A federal judge has stopped the U.S. government from denying Philadelphia a major grant because of its sanctuary city status. U.S. District Judge Michael Baylson stated on Wednesday that withholding the grant could cause harm to the city and its residents. Philadelphia government officials filed a suit against Attorney General Jeff Sessions in August after he said that, cities that do not comply with immigration enforcement laws will be denied certain federal grants. New Jersey police have captured 3 of 4 teenagers who escaped from a juvenile detention center overnight. It started at the Harborfields Youth Detention Facility in Egg Harbor City around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. The four teens overpowered a guard and stole his keys. They fled in his vehicle and eventually crashed it. The Atlantic County sheriff said that they had 100 officers and 26 K-9 units searching including a state police helicopter. Philadelphia Police are now investigating a shooting that occurred in Oxford Circle involving a pregnant woman. Police say that the shooting took place on the 1500 block of Rosalie Street at around 6 pm on Tuesday night. The 21-year-old Tamara Vellon, who is nine months pregnant and due to give birth today, was shot by her 43-year-old neighbor Onice Cox. Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed inside an Applebees in Lawrenceville, Mercer County early Tuesday morning. It happened just before 12:30 a.m. at the restaurant at 3330 Brunswick Pike (Rt 1). The restaurant and bar is usually open until 1 a.m. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office says that the victim, a man in his 20's, was sitting at the bar. SEPTA officials have announced that they are going to change their bus policy regarding parents having their children in strollers while on the bus at off peak hours. Officials say that SEPTA receives around 10 stroller complaints a month from passengers that are either for or against open strollers on the bus. New charges have been filed against members of a Penn State fraternity in the death of pledge Timothy Piazza after security footage from inside the fraternity house that had been deleted was recovered by investigators. Police in Radnor Township, Delaware Township have arrested a Michigan man for stalking a local teenage social media star. 30-year-old Michael Leib of Plymouth City, MI, has been charged with multiple counts of stalking and harassment of 18-year-old James Neese. Four Philadelphia police officers were injured when two police vehicles collided while responding to a shooting this morning in Kensington. It happened around 10:15 a.m. at D Street and Indiana Avenue. One police SUV sustained heavy front end damage. The other SUV was struck on the driver side, hit a telephone pole, and ended up in the side of a home. Two officers were in each vehicle. West Conshohocken Police have reported they found human skeletal remains in an area near the Four Falls Corporate Center in West Conshohocken. A passerby cutting through the wooded area found the remains on Thursday. Officials say that the remains were around 50 feet from the train tracks, near the banks of the Schuylkill River in a flattened area. A pocketbook was also found at the scene, police are still investigating.
