SEPTA Stroller Policy Change; Woman Hits Employee With Car; Protest To Shut 'A Lounge' Down

SEPTA officials have announced that they are going to change their bus policy regarding parents having their children in strollers while on the bus at off peak hours. Officials say that SEPTA receives around 10 stroller complaints a month from passengers that are either for or against open strollers on the bus. The policy change has been in the works before the petition and will look to change it starting in January. Officials say that as of now, it is up to the driver's discretion whether or not the strollers should be folded up or kept open.

Philadelphia Police are now searching for a young woman and her friend after they ran down a 7-11 employee in the East Oak Lane of Philadelphia last month. The incident happened at around 11:30 pm at the 7-11 on the 6700 block of North 5th Street. Security footage shows the woman and a young man get in the car then reverse really fast almost hitting 3 people. She also returned twice, one of the times driving forward, striking one of the employees. The car then backed up and left the parking lot a high speed. The victim was hospitalized with broken bones and many abrasions and he has since been released. Police are hoping anyone can help identify the whereabouts of these suspects.

A couple of family and friends of the victims who have been killed outside of Philadelphia's A Lounge Social Club were protesting the club on Monday morning. The club, located on the 4200 block of Macalaster Street, has been the scene of three murders since January of 2015. Most recently was on early Sunday morning when 37-year-old Pablo Rivera was shot and killed, as well as a 24-year-old bystander who was also shot and injured. The first shooting that occurred outside of the club was back in January of 2015, when 34-year-old Alejandro Rojas Garcia was shot and killed. The Department of Licenses is now collaborating with the Philadelphia Police, the Liquor Control Board and other officials to see what the future plans for the club are.
