Conviction in Danny DeGennaro Murder, Bucks Guitarist; Surveillance Video S.Philly Fruit Cart Murder

Bucks County prosecutors called him the "mastermind" of the entire robbery plot that ended with Levittown musician Danny DeGennaro shot to death, even though the Trenton man didn't fire a shot. That detail helped a Bucks County jury from finding 20-year-old Jermaine M. Jackson guilty of second-degree murder on Monday after 8 hours of deliberation. Second-degree murder is a charge specifically for a killing that occurs during the course of another felony and carries a mandatory sentence of life without parole. He was also found guilty of robbery and conspiracy to commit both robbery and burglary, but not-guilty of first-degree murder. The prosecution showed how Jackson recruited Danasia Bakr, 19, of Falls, and Tatyana Henderson, 19, of Bensalem, Breon Powell, 21, of Trenton, and Kazair Gist, 20, of Trenton. The plan was to confront DeGennaro about paying a drug debt, if he didn't pay up, they were going to strong arm him at gun point. The girls waited outside. Jackson, Gist with a handgun and Powell with a shotgun went in the house. Something went wrong and Powell shot DeGennaro in the chest where Gist's shot missed. The girl's have already plead guilty and testified at Jackson's trial. Powell and Gist's trial will start in two weeks. Investigators were able to track down the entire crew through phone records after they called a For Sale sign on the back of a car parked behind DeGennaro's house although it was his neighbor's car.

Philadelphia Police have released surveillance video and are seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect in the murder of a South Philly fruit cart vender. Don Ly, 68, was stabbed to death around 4:30 a.m. on April 18th in the 400 block of Vollmer Street as he was loading his fruit cart for the day. Robbery does not seem to be the motive as nothing was taken from Ly. The suspect is described as light skin black or spanish male, 5â€ 8â€, goatee, thin build. He was last seen walking on the 2700 block of South Randolph Street.
