Last Three Men Arrested in Danny DeGennaro Murder Case

The last three suspects at large are now in police custody tonight in the murder case of Levittown musician Danny DeGennaro. All three men are from Trenton, NJ.

Breon Powell, 21, of West Hanover Street, turned himself in to Bristol Township police on Friday afternoon. He was immediately arraigned on charges of murder, robbery, burglary, conspiracy and possession of a weapon. Jermaine Jackson, 20, of Pennington Avenue, and Kazair Gist, 19, of Martin Luther King Boulevard, were arrested Thursday by federal marshals executing a Bucks County warrant. They will have to be extradited to Pennsylvania, but face the same charges as Powell.

The three men and two women, Danasia Bakr, 17, of Falls Township, and Tatyana Henderson, 18, of Bensalem, who face the same charges, went to DeGennaro's house on Crabtree Drive the night of December 28th, 2011. By their accounts, Jackson told them that a guy owed him money and he needed to go get it. They called a number posted on a car for sale in DeGennaro's yard to lure him out, but it turned out to be his neighbor's. At that time the men went into the house while the girls stayed outside. DeGennaro was fatally shot in the chest with a shotgun, where his downstairs neighbor found him lying on the floor in the front of the house. The suspects all fled the scene back to Trenton.

Bakr is set to be tried as an adult. Jackson is being held on unrelated robbery charges in NJ which may slow down his extradition. Henderson is also being held on unrelated theft charges, but in PA.

Danny 'Rio' DeGennaro is well known as a musician and guitarist, playing with Bob Weir and Clarence Clemmons during his career.
