New charges have been filed in an unrelated case against the Lancaster man involved in the fatal crash on Roosevelt Blvd that killed a woman and her three sons. These new charges stem from an incident a week before the deadly drag racing crash. A woman called police in Manheim Township, Lancaster County and reported on a man waving a badge and driving recklessly. She gave them a license plate that traces to 23-year-old Khusen Akhmedov. Jerry Sandusky writes that he is having a very challenging time in prison. TMZ has obtained letters written by the former Penn State coach from his prison cell. Sandusky says he is trying to get better, but calls his conviction a grave injustice and he will continue battling the case until the last whistle. Sandusky is doing 30 to 60 for sexually abusing boys.

Twenty two embassies and consulates in the Middle East and North Africa are closed today and a worldwide travel alert is in effect for Americans. Nineteen embassies will remain closed through next weekend. According to the White House, there is a credible threat of an Al Qaeda strike against Americans. The U.S. State Department announced it will extend the closures of almost two dozen embassies and consulates, prompted by an uncovered al Qaeda plot, through Saturday due to an "abundance of caution." Officials picked up clues into the al Qaeda operation against diplomatic posts in the Middle East and other Muslim countries over the weekend. Two more dead dolphins washed up at the Jersey shore yesterday and environmental officials are still searching for the reason the dolphins are dying. These two at Ocean City and Margate bring the total dead dolphins on the beach to over 20. So far the deaths have been linked to pneumonia and common dolphin virus.

After 16 hours, the strike at the Pennsylvania Convention Center is over. Labor unions at the Pennsylvania Convention Center staged a walkout Thursday. The carpenters' union notified the Convention Center of its intention to go on strike in the midst of contract negotiations. The carpenters' union is the largest at the Convention Center.
