Another warm, wet day in the area and local ski shops are wondering what to do with all that cold weather gear. There are deals to be had this winter says Jeff Cassano, marketing manager at Buckman's Ski Shops. Buckman's is only open October through March so there’s not much selling time. Cassano says he can’t remember a recent year that was so wet and mild, preventing local mountains from opening with manmade snow.

A beloved member of the Harlem Globetrotters has died. Meadowlark Lemon, a star attraction for 25 years, died on Sunday in Scottsdale, Arizona. As residents of North Texas surveyed the destruction from deadly weekend tornadoes, the storm system that spawned the twisters was bringing winter storm woes to the Midwest and worsening flooding already being blamed for more than a dozen deaths. Philadelphia Police are searching for a missing 12-year-old girl. Aracely Acevedo was first reported missing on Wednesday from her home on the 4200 block of Van Kirk Street. She was seen getting onto the Northbound Route 56 bus on the 2000 block of Wakeling Street. Police say she suffers from Attention Deficit Disorder and Hyperactivity. Police are investigating a deadly shooting in East Mount Airy. Investigators say a man in his 30s was shot in the stomach while sitting his vehicle. The shooting happened on the 400 block of Vernon Road around 11 Wednesday night. Police say the unidentified man then drove two blocks and crashed into two parked vehicles. He was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injury.

Philadelphia police have charged a homeless male prostitute in the death of a local psychiatrist in a Center City hotel over the weekend. 27-year-old Manuel Baez has been charged with the murder of 75-year-old Howard Baker. Baker was discovered lying face up and naked on the floor of a hotel room at the Rodeway Inn on Walnut Street on Monday morning. He had a belt tight around his neck.
