At the urging of Governor Tom Wolf to 'free the 6-pack,' the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board approved the licenses of several business that also sell gasoline. 9 different businesses across the state were approved to sell up to 192 ounces of malt or brewed beverages. The gas stations must have a convenience type store that regularly serves food and have seating for at least 30 people. A sightseer from Texas was struck and killed by the Market-Frankford el yesterday afternoon in Center City after visiting the Liberty Bell. The victim was with his wife on the packed platform of the 13th Street station at the height of rush hour. He leaned over from the platform to see if his train was coming, lost his balance and fell onto the tracks. Seconds later, he was struck and killed.

On Tuesday, the East Pikeland Township Police announced the arrest of a man for theft saying he took money from a daycare that he was placed in charge of. Steve Hughes, 47, of Phoenixville, was a member of the Kimberton Fire Company, and was placed in charge of the ABC 123 Learning Center, a daycare that is owned by the fire company. Comedian Bill Cosby appeared in Montgomery County court on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing on sexual assault charges. According to a recent report from Wallethub, Philadelphia is among the worst places to start a career, coming in 142 out of 150 U-S cities. The study looked at 17 variables including employment opportunities, unemployment, and cost of living. You might not want to end your career in Philadelphia either. A North Wales, Montgomery County, woman has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of her husband over the weekend. 63-year-old Hsiu-Chin Lin is accused of killing 67-year-old Chien-Kuo Lin around 4 p.m. Sunday in the garage of their home on the 200 block of South 6th Street. PATCO trains were operating on an emergency schedule this morning after a piece of construction equipment derailed near Woodcrest Station in Cherry Hill. The machine, which is used to lift railroad ties, went off of track one. Two workers were taken to a hospital for evaluation and were released.

Authorities in Montgomery County say a 67-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday afternoon. Police responded to reports of domestic disturbance at a home near 6th Street and East Montgomery Avenue in North Wales. Arriving officers found the victim dead in the garage with a gunshot wound to the torso. A suspect is in custody.

A small blimp made an emergency landing during the evening rush hour in a construction site right next to I-95 in Fishtown on Friday. The 2-man dirigible was having engine trouble and was forced to the ground on the 1900 block of Richmond Street just after 6:45 p.m. No one was injured.
