| Philadelphia Police are searching for a suspect wanted for the brutal assault of a 38-year-old woman and the sexual assault of a 13-year-old teenage girl in a Frankford home early Tuesday morning. Rick MacLeish, a three-time all-star and the Flyers first ever 50 goal scorer has died. MacLeish had been battling meningitis, along with kidney and liver problems. Flyers president Paul Holmgren called MacLeish "A good father, grandfather, teammate and friend." Rick MacLeish was 66.

Farley Service Plaza was full of many tan faces after a Memorial Day Weekend down the shore, but some red ones too from anger and frustration caused by the ride home. Four hours was one driver's time from Avalon to South Philly. On a scale of 1-10 with ten being the worst it was probably an eight or nine as some of the worst traffic ever seen. Backups on the Garden State Parkway northbound reached around 20 miles at one point.

| Fire broke out during Memorial Day celebrations at an American Legion post in the city's Frankford section. It happened around 3 p.m. at American Legion Post 396 on the 2300 block of Orthodox Street. Smoke was seen coming from a dumbwaiter by the bar. A motor had ignited a tiny fire in the attic.
