Woman Arrested in Death of Upper Darby Mother; DUI Crash Injures Woman; PA Phase 1C Starts Monday

A woman has been arrested in connection to the death of a pregnant Upper Darby mother who went missing last month. 21-year-old Tylydiah Garnett is charged with arson, criminal conspiracy, use of communication facility, abuse of corpse, and other related offenses (pictured below). She was taken into custody by the Philadelphia Homicide Fugitive Unit with the assistance of the FBI Gun Violence Task Force on Saturday, 4/10, on the 1200 block of New Kirk Street. Police say that she is seen on video helping dispose of the body of 21-year-old Dianna Brice (pictured). Brice, who was 14-months pregnant and the mother of a 4-year-old, was last seen on March 30 with her boyfriend 23-year-old Justin Smith leaving a Landsdowne laundromat. Smith's car was found on fire in West Philadelphia later that afternoon. Brice's body was discovered on April 5 on the 5800 block of Eastwick Avenue about a mile from the car. An autopsy determined she died from multiple gun shot wounds to the head. Justin Smith is still being sought by police.

A 22-year-old man is facing DUI and reckless endangerment charges after hitting a woman and four parked cars in Philadelphia's Point Breeze section on Saturday night, 4/10. The man hit two parked cars on the 1800 block of Ellsworth Street. He continued on to the 1700 block when he struck the 31-year-old woman and and two more parked cars. He initially fled the scene but came back a short time later. The woman is in the hospital in critical condition with head trauma. His identity has not been released.
