One person is dead after an ultralight aircraft crashed in South Jersey on Monday afternoon, 1/11. It happened just before 1 p.m. in a wooded area near Tuckahoe Road and Harding Highway close to Vineland-Downstown Airport in Franklin Township, New Jersey. The aircraft took off from a private residence near Union Road in Vineland, NJ. The only person on board at the time was the pilot, 64-year-old Gerard Asselta. Philadelphia Police are searching for two suspects wanted in a brazen attempted robbery at a fast food restaurant last month. It happened around 8:20 p.m. Dec. 28 at the Checkers drive-thru on the 3500 block of Aramingo Avenue in Port Richmond. The incident was caught on surveillance video. A Pennsylvania man is among four who died in the Wednesday, 1/6, riot at the U.S. Capitol involving Trump extremists. 50-year-old Benjamin Phillips, a web developer from Bloomsburg, suffered a stroke during the mayhem. The 2021 Philadelphia St. Patrick's Day Parade this March will be postposed once again due to coronavirus COVID-19. The 2020 parade was the first major event to be cancelled last March at the onset of the pandemic. Last July, all events in Philadelphia were cancelled through February 2021. The vaccine will not be widely distributed to the general public until the spring and summer. Until then, we may continue to see the postponement events.

A Philadelphia father has now been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of his 2-year-old son in a Bucks County apartment last month. 27-year-old Jorddan Thornton had previously been arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child in the death of Julius Thornton. It happened on the evening of December 2 at the Racquet Club Apartments and Townhomes on Veterans Highway in Middletown Township. Police responded to a call of a boy with a cracked skull. Supporters of President Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol building on Wednesday afternoon, 1/6, while a joint session of Congress was convened to certify the Electoral College votes. Earlier Wednesday, the crowd had gathered at the Ellipse (between the White House and Washington Monument) for a rally featuring a speech by the President. Two people are dead after a two-alarm fire in Berks County early Sunday morning, 1/3. It happened around midnight on the 1200 block of Chestnut Street in Reading. Heavy flames could be seen coming from the front of the row home. It took 45 minutes to bring the fire under control. Firefighters found a woman and teen girl inside while searching the building. A woman has died after a single car crash in Northeast Philadelphia around midnight, 1/2. It happened as the vehicle was exiting Woodhaven Road onto Thornton Road. The car left the road and crashed into a pole. The woman was sitting in the backseat. She was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
