Bail has been set at $1.5 million for crane operator Sean Benschop. He has been charged with involuntary manslaughter of 6 people and and 13 counts of reckless endangerment after the building collapse June 5th at the Salvation Army in Center City. Prosecutors wanted him remanded, noting he is a possible flight risk being a non-citizen. The defense said that Benschop turned himself in when issued a warrant. The crane operator involved in the deadly building collapse on Market Street this month is in court today for a preliminary hearing. Sean Benschop is charged with six counts of involuntary manslaughter, one count of reckless endangerment and causing a catastrophe. Benschop allegedly had marijuana and pain killers in his system at the time of the collapse on June 5th.

A fire in North Philadelphia on Tuesday night left two people injured inside a home at 3400 N 11th Street around 9:20 p.m. One victim, a 32-year-old male, was transported to Temple University Hospital in critical condition. The second victim was still being worked on at the scene. The fire was placed under control around 9:50 p.m.

Police in Collingdale, Delaware County have dug up the yard of a woman who has been missing for over two months. The team of county sheriffs and police cadaver dogs spent around two hours at the residence but did not find anything. Children's Hospital of Philadelphia will build a new Pediatric Care center thanks in large part to a $50 million gift from a Fort Washington financial services firm. The building will be called The Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care. A man has been sentenced to 23 to 46 years in the strangulation murder of his girlfriend in eastern Pennsylvania last year. Thirty-four-year-old Edwin Carrero II of Pottstown was sentenced Monday in Montgomery County Court. He pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and theft in February, a year after 31-year-old Alicia Schmidt was killed in her Pottstown home.

The family says the body of a missing Gloucester Township woman was found on Monday shortly before noon. 59-year-old Carol Reiff was reported missing on Friday after her family had not heard from her since Thursday and she did not arrive at their home in Manahawkin, NJ for a planned visit.
