Mandela Condition Critical, NJ Earthquake 2.1, Camden Racial Arrest Made

The South African presidency says the health condition of Nelson Mandela has become critical. The president had visited Mandela on Sunday evening and was informed by the medical team that Mandela's condition had become critical in the past 24 hours. Mandela, who became South Africa's first black president after the end of apartheid in 1994, was hospitalized for what the government said was a recurring lung infection.

Officials say a small earthquake in northern New Jersey has caused no damage or injuries. A 2.1-magnitude earthquake briefly shook Rockaway Borough on Sunday at 11:54am. Some residents in the Morris County community say they felt the quake in their homes. But for most, the event was over before most realized what was happening.

A suspect attending a Toby Keith concert at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden Saturday was arrested following a bias incident. 33-year-old Darren T. Walp, of Ridley Park, climbed the fence of a residential complex near the concert venue around 6:30 p.m. and reportedly began waving a confederate flag and shouting racial slurs at residents. While he tried to escape back into the concert crowd, he was arrested and taken into custody by a Camden County Police officer who was working the event.
