Clay Aiken, the former American Idol finalist, has suspended his campaign for Congress because his opponent died suddenly at his home. Keith Crisco was 71 years old and in a very close race with Aiken in a North Carolina democratic primary. Aiken's lead was about 400 votes. Crisco apparently fell at home in Asheboro.

Wildwood Commissioner Pete Byron says the city commission has voted to make part of the oceanfront dog-friendly year round. Byron says they’re looking at a couple of sites but haven’t made a decision yet. They expect to have it open by June in hopes of making owners feel especially welcome in Wildwood.

Former Phillie, Mitch Williams was ejected from a baseball game for 10 year olds on Saturday. Williams coaches his son’s team playing in a Ripken Baseball tournament in Aberdeen, Maryland. Engineering students at Villanova are making final adjustments on the race car they built ahead of an international competition next weekend. 31 students in the Formula SAE club built everything on the car aside from the tires, wheels and engine. Police have made an arrest in the shooting of an 8-year-old boy in North Coventry Township, Chester County yesterday. 55-year-old Wayne Snowden of the 300 block of South Hanover Street has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault for firing the shot that hit 8-year-old A.J. Hagner. At 5:00 pm Friday afternoon, Snowden walked out onto his porch and randomly fired his gun towards West Main Street. An emergency Police dispatcher in Philadelphia has been indicted on federal charges that she took bribes from tow truck operators to send them crash locations and other information. FBI and Philadelphia police investigators said Friday that civilian dispatcher Dorian Parsley took bribes of $100-200 a week from two tow truck operators and a body shop. A Conshohocken Dance instructor is under arrest on charges of statutory rape of a 15 year old student. Twenty eight year old Frank Laurenzi who owns "Urban Elegance Dance Club" on Fayette Street met the alleged victim while teaching at "LeRoux School of Dance" in Limerick Township when she was 10 years old.
