4 Charged in Shooting of Camden Officers' Home; Two Teens Shot; S. Philly Lowes Shooting

Authorities in Camden County announced on Monday, 10/5, the arrests of four suspects related to an incident last month where shots were fired at the home of two Camden County Police officers. 30-year-old Kobbie Johnson of Collingswood, 19-year-old Julio Nieves of Pennsauken, 19-year-old Jaqwa Styles of Pennsauken, and 18-year-old Jeremiah McDonald of Pennsauken are charged with three counts of attempted murder and related offenses. It happened on September 15 on the 2900 block of Clinton Street in East Camden. The two officers were inside their home with their 10-day-old baby when a vehicle drove by and fired shots at the house. No one inside was injured. At a press conference today, police said that the suspects had the wrong house and did not know that police officers lived there.

A 15-year-old was shot and killed and another teen was injured in a shooting in South Philadelphia on Sunday night, 10/4. It happened around 7 p.m. on the 2100 block of Jackson Street. 15-year-old Omar Wade was shot in his head and thigh. An 18-year-old old was shot in the lower back. Both were rushed to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center. Wade later died from his injuries. The other teen is in critical condition. The total homicides in 2020 now matches the total homicides in all of 2019 and there are three more months left in the year. Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 215-686-TIPS.

A 21-year-old man was shot and killed in broad daylight in the busy parking lot of Lowe's in South Philadelphia on Monday afternoon, 10/5. It happened around 1 p.m. at 2106 S. Christopher Columbus Blvd. The store employee was shot 9 times by a suspect that pulled up and opened fire. The victim was taken to Jefferson University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.

Lowes released a statement, "We are heartbroken at the tragic and senseless shooting that took place outside our store today. Our focus is on providing support to our associate's family and colleagues at the local store. We respectfully refer all questions to local law enforcement."

UPDATE: Philadelphia Police have identified the victim of the Lowe's Parkin glot shooting as 21-year-old Daejour Smith of Bailey Terrace. They saying the shooting ws the result of some kind of argument, but they do not know what led up to that. There have been no arrests so far.
