9yo Shot/KIlled in Ogontz Home; New Philly Construction Can Begin; CT Fugitive May Have Stolen Car

Philadelphia Police are investigating after a 9-year-old was shot and killed in Ogontz on Tuesday night, 5/26. It happened around 9:30 p.m. inside a home on the 5900 block of North 20th Street. The boy was shot once in the face. He was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center where he later died. No weapons have been recovered and no arrests have been made as of yet. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are not yet known. "There's evidence to believe that there might be some negligence involved," said Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw.

UPDATE: Police recovered a gun from behind the home on Wednesday, 5/27.

UPDATE: 35-year-old Syiede Booker has been charged involuntary manslaughter, endangering welfare of child, recklessly endangering another person, unsworn falsification, tampering with evidence and obstructing justice in 9-year-old Rajib Ingram's death. Booker is live-in boyfriend of Ingram's mother. Ingram accidentally shot himself.

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney announced on Tuesday, May 26, that certain restrictions on the construction and real estate industry will be relaxed effective immediately. The scope of the April 29th Construction Authorization has been changed to now allow for building or demolition projects on exterior projects to proceed with permits issued by the city after March 20. Interior residential work is still restricted to emergency repairs only. Initially, only projects that had previously started or had previously been approved prior to the shutdown in March were allowed to resume when construction was restarted weeks ago. The order also allows the real estate industry to resume. Social distancing and health department safety guidelines must be followed.

Police say that a vehicle has been stolen in the area where a Connecticut college student wanted for murder was last seen over the weekend. Officials caution that it has not been confirmed that 23-year-old Peter Manfredonia stole the vehicle, but it did coincide with his last known location. The vehicle in question is a black Hyundai Santa with Pennsylvania plates KYW-1650. Manfredonia was last seen on foot near railroad tracks in East Stroudsburg, Monroe County, PA. He was wearing a white t-shirt, dark shorts, and was carry a large duffel bag possibly full of weapons. He is believed to be armed and dangerous. If you see the vehicle or the suspect, do not approach, call 911.
