Concert organizers say everything is on schedule for the launch of this weekend’s two-day "Made in America" concert event on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia. More than a hundred stage hands have been working for the past several days to assemble two stages and VIP tents in preparation for Jay-Z's Labor Day weekend event. Live Nation's Jim Sutcliffe says the Philadelphia Labor Day concert has the potential to become an annual event here and he's already drawing some comparisons to the look and style of last month's Lollapalooza extravaganza in Chicago's downtown Grant Park.

An official says a New Jersey supermarket employee killed two people at the store early Friday and then fatally shot himself. The 23-year-old man opened fire on employees he saw when he walked into the Pathmark store in Old Bridge, NJ. Authorities say 16 shots were fired and an AK-47, extra ammunition and a handgun were found at the scene. The motive is being investigated.

This weekend’s “Made in America” concert on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia could translate into some big dollars for the local United Way. Jill Michal, president and CEO of United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, says performer Jay Z, who put together the two-day show, has committed a couple hundred thousand dollars from the show’s proceeds – up-front – to United Way operations in New York City, Philadelphia, and Lancaster. She says for this region, the majority of the money is being committed to a joint project with the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia.
