The tour buses of two popular classic rock bands were damaged in a fire this afternoon at a parking facility in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia. The fire broke out at a bus parking lot at 2nd and Callowhill St. around 12:20pm Wednesday afternoon. The bus belonging to rock band Styx caught fire and the rear was engulfed in flames. It spread to the adjacent bus belonging to the band Foreigner. The two bands are in town and scheduled to play at the Let Freedom Rock Fest on Thursday at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden. No one was on the buses at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. Smoke could be seen from I-95 as it runs next to the lot. An investigation into the cause is underway.

Ocean County Prosecutors have released their final report into the March 21st fire at the Mariner’s Cove Motor Inn in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. They concluded that a man, high on opiates, fell asleep on a couch while smoking a cigarette. Video surveillance recovered from the fire showed 45-year-old John Alberti lying face down on a couch in the lounge while smoking a cigarette. Smoke and flames eventually erupted from that couch and engulfed the entire motel complex. Alberti and three others died in the blaze from smoke inhalation. At least half of the 40 residents of the motel were displaced Superstorm Sandy victims. Alberti's autopsy found the presence of opiates in his system.

A son and grandson have been charged in the murder and disposal of the grandfather last month. The son, 59-year-old David St. Onge, Sr., is facing third degree murder and related offenses and the grandson, 30-year-old David St. Onge Jr., is facing charges for lying to police, tampering with evidence and abusing a corpse in the death of 88-year-old Jack St. Onge. The three men shared a home on the 3000 block of Arch Road in Plymouth Township. David Sr. admitted to hitting his father on the head with a flashlight, killing him, when the elder St. Onge threatened to thrown him out back on June 10th. He then enlisted his son David Jr. to dispose of the body. They wrapped it in a tarp and drove to a remote area in Gibson Township, Susquehanna County. Crews clearing brush found the body on June 27th along Route 2036.
