|
by: Rebel - Havertown, PA started: 06/30/11 10:26 am | updated: 06/30/11 10:26 am |
|
The school district's budget problems are not over.
The state Legislature restored only $22 million from the nearly $300 million that Gov. Corbett slashed.
Philadelphia district and city officials hoped that City Council's vote to raise property taxes by nearly 4 percent might have led to more cash from the state.
City Council last week approved the 3.85 percent, one-year property-tax hike, and parking-meter rates were also increased, to send an... Read More |

Dog owners in Delaware County are being watched. Get caught without the $6 dog license and you could get fined $300.
State dog wardens are walking neighborhood streets, visiting parks and trails, peering over backyard fences and generally searching out canine companions without a current license.
Officials estimate there are 141,000 dogs living in Delaware County, yet less than 6,000 are licensed.
In 2007, after state wardens went through dog parks... Read More |

Day 3 Dave Matthews Band Caravan Time to Wrap it up and Bring it on Home |
|
by: iradioal - Philadelphia, PA started: 06/27/11 1:43 am | updated: 06/27/11 2:28 pm |

Day 3, Sunday, was again another perfect day in Atlantic City. We got away with three beautiful days in a row with no rain and no oppressive heat. The location helps, right in the inter-coastal waterway, so there's a cool breeze from the water. Today's crowd was noticeably smaller than yesterday's closer to Friday's attendance.
Alright, let me run through some of the music. I unfortunately was running late and missed Alberta Cross and Dawes, but I heard they both had decent sets.... Read More |

Day 2 Dave Matthews Band Caravan Worldly Music Decends |

Saturday, Day 2, has came and went on Bader field and it was another perfect day. Slightly cooler and less windy than Friday, but couldn't have ordered up a better sky. The crowd was definitely much larger and earlier arriving that Friday, but that was expected as the weekend is in full swing.
That large crowd also had to keep moving back and forth all day. from one stage to the next like they were attached in the head, from Dave & Tim, to Thievery Corporation, then back to... Read More |
