Oklahoma Twister Death Toll Revised Downward |

Crews are digging through the disaster area in Moore, Oklahoma where a tornado, one mile wide packing winds topping 200 miles per hour, ripped through the suburban neighborhood. According to the medical examiner, 24 are confirmed dead including 9 children. These numbers have been revised downward as some had been counted twice in the chaos that immediately followed the twister.

The AMERICA concert on Saturday April 20th at the Rams Head Inn was very special. The venue is small with just over 300 seats. The club is set up with tables and chairs. I was one table from the stage to the left. The sound was perfect, not overpowering as it can be in a small venue. The band was full of energy, their trade mark harmonies very tight. Founding member of the Doors, Ray Manzarek died yesterday surrounded by his family in Rosenheim, Germany after a long battle with bile duct cancer. Manzarek along with lead singer, Jim Morrison created a rock music legacy in the 1960's that still endures today. Before Morrison's death in 1971, the Doors recorded 6 studio albums including monster rock hits, "Light My Fire," "Touch Me" and "Riders on the Storm." Ray Manzarek was 74.

The Woodcrest Country Club in Cherry Hill will soon have new owners. Cherry Hill Land Associates won the property for $10.1 million. They were among four major bidders that attended the private auction in Center City on Monday morning. The group has not commented on what they would do with the 155 acres of land, but folks living near the country club say they hope it doesn't become housing or retail space.

Police are still tracking a missing University of Rhode Island student on his way home from college to Skippack, PA in Montgomery County. Matthew Royer, a 21-year-old pharmacy student, left university in Kingston, RI on Thursday night. A 21 year old Skippack student has gone missing on his trip home from University of Rhode Island. Matthew Royer texted his mother Thursday night, before he started the seven hour drive home, letting her know he was leaving. His phone was traced to a gas station in Allentown where he was last seen on surveillance video early Friday morning, just 35 miles from home.
