A West Chester University student who hit a half-court shot during a halftime challenge during a game on campus Saturday night will not be getting the $10,000 prize. 18-year-old freshman Jack Lavery was picked to participate in the promotion - make four different shots in 25 seconds - during halftime against Shippensburg University. I See Stars was first released in 2002 by the group La Honda and reissued in Jan. 2014 by two of the original members, Sarah Joyce and Malcolm Doherty. You might not recognize any of the members except that Sarah Joyce is the multi-platinum British singer/song writer Rumer. The Philadelphia School District has announced changes to the remainder of the school calendar to make up for all of the snow cancellations this year. Three days originally planned for Spring recess, will now be in session. Schools will now be open April 15, 16 and 17. The projected last day of classes is June 19th. More changes are possible if there are more cancellations.

Princeton University is offering booster shots for students and staff who received the meningitis B vaccine late last year. The second dose will be available from Monday through Thursday at the school's Frist Campus Center. It's available to undergraduate students, graduate students living on campus and staff members with certain illnesses. Nearly 5,300 people got the vaccine for the B strain of the meningitis bacteria. A chain reaction crash this morning on the Pennsylvania Turnpike involved around 100 cars and tractor trailers over a several mile stretch, shutting down the turnpike for most of the day. The incident happened around 8:30 this morning in the eastbound lanes between Willow Grove and Bensalem, Pa. Former Phillies manager Jim Fregosi has died. Six days ago, Fregosi was on a Major League Baseball alumni cruise in the Cayman Islands when he suffered a stroke. Fregosi was taken to a hospital there then airlifted to a Miami hospital where he was removed from life support. Jim Fregosi led the 1993 Phillies from last place to a pennant and six games in the World Series. Jim Fregosi was 71

Due to the winter storm, Governor Chris Christie has authorized a delayed opening of 10:30 a.m. for all non-essential state employees on Friday. The governor says this will allow ample time for roadways, parking lots and sidewalks to be cleared and made safe for travel. Essential employees should report to work on their regular schedule.
