| A Philadelphia police officer is recovering after he was shot several times during an ambush late Thursday night in West Philadelphia. (photo below) The officer - 33-year-old Jesse Hartnett - was sitting in his patrol car around 11:30 p.m. at 60th and Spruce Streets when a gunman fired 13 shots through the driver's side of the car and was struck three times in his left arm. Frigid temperatures made it difficult for firefighters called to Cobbs Creek Golf Course late last night. A fire broke out in the clubhouse on Cardington Road on the Karakung Course about 11:00 p.m. The fire was under control just before 1 a.m. There were no injuries however the fire department had water issues in the cold and now the house has completely iced over.
