Philadelphia producer RJD2 has just announced a brand new album and tour dates for the new year. The new LP Dame Fortune more deeply explores soul music and draws inspiration from the sounds of Philly itself. He explains that before living in Philadelphia he had no context for the soul music he was in to. "Philly was a place where there were enough people who had the same musical vocabulary that I did, which made the music more than something I had just discovered on my own." The album has 12 tracks and comes out March 25th. It features Philly's Son Little, Phonte Coleman, Blueprint, Josh Krajcik, and Jordan Brown. He has announced 11 tour dates including a May 28th show at Union Transfer.

Linda Perry held a party/concert Tuesday night in Los Angeles for the upcoming movie Freeheld. The party featured many artists/stars taking the stage and performing covers, kind of like karaoke with a full band. Courtney Love did a rendition of Radiohead's "Creep" and Christina Aguilera did a mighty version of John Lennon's "Mother." Freeheld lead actress Juliette Lewis reportedly performed AC/DC's "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap." Check out some video from the night below:
Sia's new album This Is Acting, featuring songs originally written for other artists, is due out on January 29th. Today she has released a new song off the album that co-written and co-produced by Kanye West. You can listen to the full new track "Reaper" below:

Janet Jackson said in a tweet that she does not have cancer, despite the rumors. She had to postpone her Unbreakable World Tour due to an unspecified surgery, but promised to rescheduled all dates. Jackson said that she was recovering and will be ready for all shows scheduled for Europe starting March 30. She was scheduled to play the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on February 24th. The video embedded in the tweet starts with the track "The Great Forever" and the lyrics, "Not too pleased with what you're digging/I'm busy livin' my life/Sources say but where ya gettin' it/Don't create the truth you like." It ends with her message, "Remember... believe it when you hear it from my lips. The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I'm recovering. My doctors have approved my concerts as scheduled in Europe, and as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled. Thank you for your prayers and love."
