The Kelly Center for Music, Arts and Community in Havertown will be hosting a full week of diverse music, arts and cultural events to coincide with Delco Arts Week this Saturday, September 21st to 28th. The Make the World Better Foundation held its 5th Annual Benefit Concert on Thursday, September 5th, at the Dell Music Center in East Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, PA. This year's concert featured performances from Future Islands, Hop Along, Strand of Oaks, and Karl Blau. Former Philadelphia Eagles LB and MTWB founder Connor Barwin announced from the stage that they had raised $100,000 from the proceeds of the show to support the foundation's projects.

The iconic spire on top of the Tower Theater on 69th Street in Upper Darby is being dismantled starting today Tuesday, 8/13, after engineers determined that is has become structurally unsound and posed a safety hazard. Each August as the Earth's annual orbit takes it through the remains of the comet Swift-Tuttle/109P, we are treated to a dramatic show of meteors streaking through the sky called the Perseids. Named because they seem to radiate from the constellation Perseus, this meteor shower will peak tonight Monday August 12th through Tuesday August 13th.
