Arrest in Milan Loncar Murder; SJ Teen Faces Upgraded Charges; Saturday Shootings in Philly

On Saturday, 1/16, Philadelphia Police arrested one person in connection to the murder of 25-year-old Milan Loncar in Brewerytown earlier this week. Murder charges are expected. A second suspect is still sought. No further details about the suspects have been released at this time. The shooting happened on Wednesday, 1/13, around 7 p.m. near 31st and Jefferson Streets. 25-year-old Milan Loncar was walking his dog when he was approached by two suspects. He was robbed at gunpoint and then shot in the chest. He died at Temple University Hospital. Police released surveillance video of the suspects involved. Loncar was a recent engineering graduate of Temple University. A vigil was held for him on Friday night, 1/15. There is a $20,000 reward from the the City of Philadelphia and $50,000+ from a GoFundMe Campaign for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

UPDATE: 20-year-old Davis L. Josephus of the 1400 block of Hollywood Street in Philadelphia has been charged with murder and related offense

A South Jersey teenager faces upgraded charges after an elderly man he assaulted earlier this month has now died from his injuries. The 14-year-old from Collingwood was originally charged with second-degree aggravated assault and endangerment of another person. The Camden County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit is still investigating and says the teen will face upgraded charges, but did not specify. It happened around 7:30 p.m. January 7 in the lobby of the Parkview at Collingswood complex on the 500 block of Newton Lake Drive. Surveillance video showed that 95-year-old Anthony Donofrio was "in the midst a group of teens playing in the lobby area of the apartment building." "As Donofrio walked away, one of the teens is captured on camera running toward him, punching him in the side of the head and shoving him to the ground," a statement from the prosecutor's office said. Donofrio was taken to the hospital. His condition worsened and he died on Thursday, 1/14. The medical examiner performed an autopsy on Friday, 1/15. He determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma and the manner of death to be homicide. The teenager's name is not being released since he is a minor. He is being held in a juvenile facility.

There were multiple shooting across the city on Saturday, 1/16, after a violent Friday. At 12:40 a.m. a 41-year-old man was shot 3 times in the stomach on 1000 block of West Lehigh Street. He drove himself to Temple University Hospital, but died a short time later. Two teens were shot at 1:19 p.m. on the 1300 block of East Price Street. A 17-year-old boy was shot in the back and stomach. He was taken to Einstein Medical Center in critical condition. An 18-year-old was shot once in the chest. He was taken by private vehicle to Chestnut Hill Hospital in stable condition. Another teen was shot around 4 p.m. at 40th and Cambridge in the Mantua section. The 15-year-old was shot in the face. He was taken to Presbyterian Medical Center in critical condition.

UPDATE: The 15-year-old shot at 40th and Cambridge has now succumbed to his injuries according to officials on Monday, 1/18.
