Sing Us Home Music Festival Comes To Venice Island in Manayunk in May

Philadelphia musician Dave Hause is bringing a two-day outdoor music festival to Manayunk this spring. Sing Us Home Festival will be held on Friday May 5th and Saturday May 6th at Venice Island on the grounds of the performing arts center. Drive-by Truckers and Dave Hause and the Mermaid will headline to festival. Lydia Loveless, Time Hause, Catbite, Crossed Keys, The Tisburys, Circle of Syn, and Ocean Avenue Stoppers are also on the bill. There will be a special Hause Family Campfire featuring Kathleen Edwards, Craig Finn, and Dave Hause. The festival will feature local food, drink, and more.

Hause says, "It's strange to write this thought down, but I've been playing music in and around Philadelphia for the past thirty years. From playing basements to playing at the Mann Center; singing in church to singing at Citizens Bank Park, there's nothing quite like playing in my hometown. It occurred to me a few years ago that every time I've played in Philadelphia over these decades, it was always at someone else’s space… and as grateful as we are to get those opportunities, it was always someone else's basement, someone else's venue, someone else's timetable. This is going to be different. For the first time in my career, I get to bring my favorite bands, songwriters, food, and friends to my old neighborhood and share it with all of you."

Sing Us Home is about everything we've done along the way, and all we have to look forward to. After playing countless festivals all over the world, we are making our own. We are going to mix local Philadelphia food, working class wit, California vibes, acoustic music, punk rock, the Mummers, craft beer, tattoos, art, storytelling and good old fashioned fun to present a rock and roll weekend that WE would want to attend. The idea is that if the first year goes well and you all show up and we have a transcendent time, we'll make it an annual event, so we need your help here. Get ready for a helluva good time. Get ready to Sing Us Home."

Tickets go on sale Friday, January 27 at 10 am Buy Tickets
