One teen was killed and another injured when gunfire erupted in a shopping center parking lot in Olney on Monday evening, 8/16. It happened around 7 p.m. outside the ShopRite in the One & Olney Shopping Center on the 100 block of East Olney Avenue. The two teens were sitting in a black BMW SUV when three males opened fire on them. "It appears that the shooters walked right up to this BMW and intentionally fired at least 16 shots through the front windshield," said Chief Inspector Scott Small with the Philadelphia Police Department. An 18-year-old man was shot a least 10 times throughout his body. A 19-year-old woman was also shot multiple times. They were taken to Einstein Medical Center. The man was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The woman is in critical condition. No arrests have been made. The shooters were driving a white sedan with black-rimmed tires.

The teen killed has been identified as Khyrie Isaac. He played football last year for Bishop McDevitt High School. Isaac transferred to Samuel Fels High School to play this year. McDevitt closed at the end of last year.

A New Jersey State Trooper and a State Police K-9 were injured while apprehending a man with a knife following a chase on the New Jersey Turnpike on Monday afternoon, 8/16. It started around 2:15 p.m. on I-295 near Exit 28 in Bellmawr Borough. Troopers responded the report of a shirtless man armed with a knife outside his vehicle. The man drove off when they arrived. The chase continued to I-73 and then to the NJ Turnpike North. The man's vehicle became disabled near Exit 4 in Mount Laurel and he tried to barricade himself inside. Troopers sent in a K-9. The suspect stabbed the dog. He also hit a trooper on the head with a flashlight. They suffered non life-threatening injuries and are expected to be ok. The investigation is ongoing.

A South Jersey woman is accused of pocketing money from an online fundraiser instead of using it on funeral expenses after her husband passed in April 2019. The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office says that 49-year-old Patricia Clark of Pemberton Township is charged with one count of theft by failure to make disposition. Over 2 months, a GoFundMe campaign raised $2,050 of a $3,000 goal from 28 donors. The campaign said in part, "Please, if there's anybody out there that can make a donation to help with the expenses I would greatly appreciate it. His children would also appreciate it." Family members contacted the New Jersey State Police after Clark's husband's body remained at the morgue despite the fundraiser. She was indicted by a grand jury on August 13.
