Philadelphia Schools Closing, Dangerous Teen Trend, Election Results

The Teachers Union is not responding positively to the Philadelphia School District's plan to close 64 public schools over the next 5 years. According the District Chief Recovery Officer, Tom Knudsen, the closures will quickly save the city $33 million and a billion dollars in the long run.

Parents need to be aware of a dangerous trend emerging thanks to a You Tube video. Fox 29 reports that videos show teens drinking hand sanitizer to get a buzz. Hand sanitizer contains over 60% ethyl alcohol, making it the equivalent of 120 proof booze. Several teens have been hospitalized with alcohol poisoning.

Kathleen Kane defeated Patrick Murphy for the Democratic nomination for Attorney General. Kane captured 53% of the vote. Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney swept Pennsylvania and 4 other states.

This afternoon, the Phillies try to make it 2 in a row in Arizona with the Diamondbacks.
Tonight The 76ers are in Milwaukee with the Bucks.
