A man has been arrested for intentionally setting fire to a home that killed his own infant daughter and her grandparents while injuring others last week. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office announced on Monday, 7/12, that 23-year-old Michael Sanders of Trenton is charged with three counts of first-degree murder, as well as assault, arson, and related offenses in the deaths of 9-month-old Malani Sanders, her 42-year-old grandmother Tiffany Abrams-Jones, and her 50-year-old grandfather Prince Jones.
It happened around 3:40 a.m. Friday morning, 7/9, on the 200 block of Woodlawn Avenue in Hamilton Township. The fire quickly engulfed the two-story twin home. Malani and Abrams-Jones were found dead at the scene. The grandfather died from his injuries at the hospital. Others were treated for burns. Police say that surveillance footage shows Sanders being dropped off by a taxi near the home shortly before the fire. He was wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt, a mask, and white gloves. He went to a gas station and bought a torch lighter and cigars and walked back towards the home. After the fire they saw him on surveillance near his home no longer wearing the sweatshirt, mask, or gloves. They found those articles a few doors away down in a stairwell. He was arrested in a hotel early Monday in Plainsboro, NJ. Earlier Friday night, Sanders had texted Malani's mother, who also lives in the home, to get the child out of the house.

An aide and cousin to Pennsylvania State Sen. Anthony Williams Jr. is involved in both a civil and a criminal case tied to a violent incident at a Montgomery County country club last year. It happened on November 10, 2020, at The Club at Shannondell in Audubon. The incident was captured on surveillance video inside the pro shop. Sen. Williams Jr. was not happy about the pace of play on the golf course and wanted a refund for their round or a rain check. The attendant, Nathan Schadler, denied the request. The senator left the store and his aide/cousin, Jonathan Williams, entered. He started to have words with Schadler, who stepped out from the desk. J.Williams then punches Schadler in the face. Schadler grabs him and they tussle around the shop. J.Williams continues to punch Schadler. J.Williams is charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. Schadler is also suing him for $50,000. Sen. Williams is not accused of any wrong doing, but he is a witness in both cases.
Philadelphia Police were able to track and rescue a teenager using his cellphone after he was kidnapped in Northeast Philadelphia early Monday morning, 7/12. The 17-year-old was taken from his home around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, 7/11, on the 6600 block of Tabor Road in Lawndale. Family members say they heard a loud struggle in the basement and when they went downstairs the boy was gone. Three bullets were found outside and a bullet hole was found inside. "We were able to track the 17-year-old's cellphone to a property in the 6200 block of Trotter Street." Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said. Police and SWAT surrounded the home in Oxford Circle. Two females and one male, all in their 20s, came out of the property. The teen was found with bruises to his head and face, bleeding heavily, and was in and out of consciousness. He was able to identify the three suspects. He was rushed to the hospital in stable condition. Police say he may know one or more of his abductors. They face kidnapping and assault charges.
