A man wanted in a fatal DUI hit-and-run crash on the Vine Street Expressway (I-676) was arrested by US Marshals on Monday, 6/28, after being on the run for a year and a half. 27-year-old Aaron Sims of Camden was taken into custody in West Philadelphia. He is charged in the death of 21-year-old Chloe Robertson, a Florida resident. It happened around 1:10 a.m. on January 25, 2020. Robertson was traveling in an Uber while she was in town visiting friends. Her vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on I-676. The driver of the second vehicle, identified as Sims, left the scene. Robertson was killed in the crash. Sims later turned himself in at a state police barracks and confessed. His toxicology revealed THC in his system and a blood-alcohol content twice the legal limit. Sims was released on bail and went on the run. He faces multiple charges including aggravated assault while DUI and homicide by vehicle.

Delaware State Police are investigating after finding a person shot inside a vehicle outside the Christiana Mall on Monday afternoon, 6/28. It happened around 4 p.m. at 132 Christiana Mall near Mall Road. The victim had crashed into a guard rail after they were shot in the head. The victim was taken to Christiana Hospital. No word on the person's condition. Investigators are trying to determine where the shooting took place and how long the victim drove before crashing. No arrests have been made.

Philadelphia Parks and Recreation announced opening dates for 41 city pools. The opening dates start Wednesday, June 30, with several pools opening each days through July 10. Six others will be opening soon, but do not have dates. Not every pool in the city will open this year. City officials say it is having difficulty hiring lifeguards and other pool staff. If you are looking to stay cool, you can also check out the many sprinklers and spraygrounds.
