Kensington Deadly Hit-And-Run; $50k Philly Vax Sweepstakes; Double Shooting in Corner Store

Philadelphia Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a woman in Kensington early Sunday morning, 6/6. It happened around 4 a.m. on the 2700 block of Kensington Ave. 35-year-old Lauren Panas was hit by a white SUV traveling southbound. The vehicle was captured on surveillance in the area. It will have front end damage and a dented hood. If you have any information or have seen the vehicle, call Accident Investigation District at 215-685-3180.

City officials have launched the "Philly Vax Sweepstakes" to encourage Philadelphians to get out and get their COVID-19 vaccinations. The drawings will be on June 21, July 6, and July 19. There is $400,000 in cash prizes available. 36 people will win a prize between $1,000 and $50,000. Only adults 18+ can enter. You must also have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

A man is dead and a woman is injured after a shooting in a corner store in North Philadelphia on Monday evening, 6/7. It happened around 5:30 p.m. on the 1800 block of West Butler Street in Tioga/Nicetown. The incident was captured on surveillance video. The suspect entered the Roman Grocery store and shot the 28-year-old man three times in the chest and once in the back. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The 53-year-old woman was hit in the chest by a stray bullet. She was taken to Temple University Hospital in critical but stable condition. No arrests have been made.

It doesn't matter how many baseball games you watch, you always have the chance of seeing something you've never seen before. In the top of the eighth inning, the protective netting that is behind home plate and extends around the infield simply collapsed. No word on why it happened. The grounds crew jumped into action immediately. They were able to hoist it back up in about 20 minutes with the help of some manpower and a tractor.
