| 15yo's Shooting Called Random Act of Violence; NJ Man Caught in St. Louis; NJ Capacity Increase 3/19 |

Philadelphia Police say that a killing of a 15-year-old boy in Southwest Philadelphia on Tuesday night, 3/9, appears to be a random act of violence. It happened just before 7 p.m. on the 5200 block of Pentridge Stree in the Kingsessing neighborhood. During a news conference on Wednesday, Capt. Jason Smith said that Antonio Walker Jr. was playing basketball with his 14-year-old cousin. They heard gunshots and then saw a car drive by with an arm sticking out the rear window. Several more shots were fired. Walker was struck. They say that laughter could be heard coming from the car after the shots were fired. Walker was taken to the hospital where he died. "This appears to be an indiscriminate shooting," Smith said. "At this time we have no reason to believe these two kids were actually targeted." Juvenile homicides are up 200% from this time last year. Walker was in the 9th grade at Freire Charter School in Center City. He was on the honor roll and the track team.

Antonio was a friend to all and an old soul-- he had a wisdom to him that truly made him stand out. He was authentic-- always himself, always honest, always real.
Antonio shone inside and outside the classroom. He was an active participant in his classes and an avid debater. He had a style all his own-- that mohawk was fire, always! He was actively working on his clothing line. He loved animals and had recently become a vegetarian.
Antonio loved track and his track teammates. He was a member of Freire's first Boys' Track Championship Team. The last time we were able to hold track meets in person, he took home four gold medals-- in the 4x100, 4x400, 200, and 400. He was the anchor leg for the Penn Relay team in 2019 that finished 5th overall.
Antonio was beloved at Freire Schools by staff and students alike. More than 200 of us came together virtually this morning to grieve and begin to process. Antonio was truly a wonderful young man, and words can't begin to express how deeply we are feeling his loss.

A New Jersey man that was wanted for a murder in South Jersey and four murders in New Mexico was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in St. Louis, Missouri on Wednesday morning, 3/10. 47-year-old Sean Lannon is accused of killing 66-year-old Michael Dabkowski in a home on Myrtle Ave in Greenwich Township, Gloucester County. The discovery was made on Monday. Authorities in Albuquerque, New Mexico found four bodies in a pickup truck that was left in a parking garage on Friday, 3/5. One of the victims is Jennifer Lannon, his ex-wife. The three other victims were ages 21, 40, and 60. Sean and Jennifer have three children. The kids are safe. Acting Gloucester County Prosecutor Christine Hoffman expects there to be upgraded charges.
"The rapid and successful apprehension of Lannon is the direct result of excellent collaboration between a wide array of local, county, state and federal partners," Hoffman said. "We are particularly grateful to the U.S. Marshal's New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force/Camden Division as well as their parallel jurisdictions between New Jersey and Missouri for deploying their resources to rapidly apprehend Lannon, who was clearly a direct threat to the public."

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced upcoming changes to several capacity limits on Wednesday, 3/10. Starting next Friday, 3/19, at 6 a.m. indoor dining, casinos, recreational and amusement, gyms and fitness clubs, barber shops, salons, and other personal care businesses can increase their indoor capacity to 50%. Also starting next Friday, gatherings that are not religious services or ceremonies, political events, weddings, funerals, memorial services or performances will increase limits. Indoor gatherings will be capped at 25 and outdoor gatherings will be capped at 50. Employees do not count towards the limit. Also, bar seating is still prohibited.
