Penn State THON Weekend 2021; Live Video Stream Broadcast; Donate Now!

The annual Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, simply known as THON, is set to take place all weekend long. Normally the marathon takes at the Bryce Jordan Center on PSU's campus in State College, Pennsylvania, but this year's event will be held virtually due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. Events will still be broadcast from the BJC, but all dancers and spectators will participate from home.

This is the 44th anniversary of THON. Since 1977, the event has raised over $180 million for the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital helping to fight childhood cancer and raise awareness. Last year alone, it raised $11.69 million with 96% of funds going to the charity. THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world with over 16,500 volunteers. Donations are collected year-round culminating with the 46-hour dance marathon. Hundreds of students will participate as official "dancers" during the marathon. This year, dancers will be given "designated rest hours" from Midnight to 6 a.m. because they won't have access to the same EMS and medical support they usually have at THON. The dance marathon begins on Friday, 2/21, at 6 p.m. will end on Sunday, 2/23 at 4 p.m. with the reveal of this year's total.
