A suspect is dead after attempting to carjack a victim in East Germantown on Saturday afternoon, 12/5. It happened after 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot of CVS on the 6300 block of Stenton Avenue. A 20-year-old man approached a 59-year-old man sitting in his car and tried to rob him and take the car. A struggle ensued. The victim yelled for help. A security company supervisor came to the rescue and shot the suspect three times. The suspect was taken to Einstein Medical Center where he died a short time later. Police did recover a weapon. The victim and Good Samaritan are cooperating with police. No charges have been filed.

Search and rescue teams, as well as police, fire, and EMS personnel have been searching Ridley Creek in Delaware County after a teenager disappeared on Saturday night, 12/5. So far they have only found a hat and a shoe. The search is located along the creek near the Chester-Eddystone border. The 18-year-old was supposedly hanging out with a friend near the creek when he had a seizure and fell in. That was around 6:20 p.m. on Saturday. They searched until 2 a.m. Sunday, 12/6, before calling it off for the night. Crews with boats, drones, and dogs returned on Sunday morning, but have come up empty again.

UPDATE: A body was found in Ridley Creek on Monday morning, 12/7. The discovery was made on the 1100 block of Eddystone Avenue in Eddystone. No further details have been released.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Rahdee Chappell of Chester by family members.

Chosen 300 Ministries, which distributes meals and services to the homeless in Philadelphia, will have to close two of its locations after volunteers tested positive for coronavirus COVID-19. They are closing their West Philly and Center City location for a little over a week. Executive Director Brian Jenkins along with two volunteers tested positive. Jenkins is taking the safety of his volunteers very seriously, as well as the safety of the people who come in for a meal by closings the locations. It doesn't help to feed someone if you infect them at the same time. The doors will open again soon. In the meantime, they have put together a list of other area food locations. The list is below.
