President Donald Trump's campaign is suing both Pennsylvania and Michigan seeking to stop ballot counting until there is greater 'transparency' in the counting process and their poll watchers receive greater access to monitor the process. There is still a pending appeal in the Supreme Court over ballots received after 8 p.m. on Election Day until Friday, 11/6, at 5 p.m. Those ballots are currently being sequestered upon arrival in case of legal action. Eric Trump and Rudy Giuliani appeared in Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon to announce the lawsuits. The press conference was originally scheduled to happen at 3:30 p.m. outside the Pennsylvania Convention Center at 12th and Arch in Center City where the ballot count is going on. It was postponed and moved to Northeast Philadelphia Airport.

"This is the most important election of our lifetime, and President Trump made clear our path forward last night: ensure the integrity of this election for the good of the nation. Bad things are happening in Pennsylvania. Democrats are scheming to disenfranchise and dilute Republican votes. President Trump and his team are fighting to put a stop to it," Justin Clark, Trump 2020 Deputy Campaign Manager, said in a statement.

"The United States Constitution is clear on this issue: the legislature sets the time, place, and manner of elections in America, not state courts or executive officials. As the President has rightly said, the Supreme Court must resolve this crucial contested legal question, so President Trump's Campaign is moving to intervene in the existing Supreme Court litigation over the Pennsylvania Supreme Court's unlawful extension of the mail-in ballot receipt deadline," he continued.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed a bill banning single use paper and plastic bags as well as plastic foam containers. The bill will go into effect in May 2022. New Jersey joins eight other states in banning plastic bags. Several other states impose a fee on paper bags, but NJ will be the first to ban paper all together. Consumers will be expected to bring their own reusable bags whenever they shop to carry out their purchases. "Plastic bags are one of the most problematic forms of garbage, leading to millions of discarded bags that stream annually into our landfills, rivers, and oceans," Murphy said in an emailed statement. "We are addressing the problem of plastic pollution head-on with solutions that will help mitigate climate change and strengthen our environment for future generations." There are exceptions including bags holding meat and produce, butcher trays, newspaper bags, dry cleaning bags, bags that hold pet fish, and prescription drug bags. Restaurants and other p

Philadelphia Police are investigating after a 5-year-old girl was shot in the living room of her home on Tuesday night, 11/3. It happened around 11:30 p.m. on the 1800 block of North 6th Street in North Philadelphia. Police believe that her mother's 30-year-old boyfriend accidentally shot her while handling a firearm. The bullet struck her in the arm and then hit her body. The mother and boyfriend drove her to Temple University Hospital. The boyfriend then took off on foot. The girl was transferred to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and is in stable condition. At the home, police found that the boyfriend had taken out three guns and was handling one when it accidentally went off. There were 5 other children in the home at the time. No arrests have been made.
