The counting of mail-in and absentee ballots began at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, 11/3, Election Day. Philadelphia's election operations are located at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Voters in Philadelphia requested 425,000 mail-in ballots for the general election and officials estimate they'll get back around 350,000 to process. They have 12 high speed scanners that can process 32,000 per hour. Initial results will be posted on Tuesday night after the polls close and voting machine tallies are received. Results will continue to be posted over the next several days until they are done counting. You can watch a LIVE STREAM of the Philadelphia votes being counted below:

Philadelphia is preparing for the worst and hoping for calm after Election Day results start coming in on Tuesday night, 11/3, and over the next few days. The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office Elections Task Force has 90 attorneys and detectives ready to follow up on election related issues. If you see a problem at the polls call 215-696-9641. Businesses around the region are putting up boards across their storefronts hoping to protect themselves from potential rioting and looting. The Pennsylvania National Guard has deployed around 1,000 members to the Philadelphia region. They are protecting business districts, city buildings, and landmarks, including assisting police. In particular, you can see them stationed in the hard hit Aramingo and Castor section of Port Richmond.

Two Good Samaritans helped stop an attempted abduction in Center City on Monday night, 11/2. It happened just before 5:30 p.m. on the 200 block of South 24th Street. Police say that a 26-year-old woman was walking northbound on 24th Street when she was grabbed by a man at knifepoint and dragged towards a white SUV. Two civilians stopped the man from pulling the woman into the SUV and held him until police arrived. The woman suffered a cut to her hand. She was evaluated at the hospital. The suspect was arrested.
