Pickup Driver Arrested For Hitting Officer; 3 Vehicles Wanted in Bucks; Officials: Cancel Holidays?

Philadelphia Police have arrested the driver of a pickup truck that struck and seriously injured a police officer early Tuesday morning, a continuance of Monday night's unrest, 10/26. 28-year-old Quinzell Armstrong is charged with aggravated assault of a police officer. It happened around 1 a.m. at the intersection of 52nd and Walnut Streets. Cell phone video shows the black pickup truck speed through a group of officers striking a 56-year-old female sergeant. She suffered a broken leg and other injuries. She was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The truck was found nearby crashed into a parked car. Armstrong is also charges with conspiracy, simple assault, reckless endangerment of another person, and related offenses.

Authorities in Bucks County are looking to speak to the drivers of three vehicles who may have more information related to the shooting death of a teen in Nockamixon State Park over the weekend. 18-year-old Jason Kutt was found with a gunshot wound around 5:15 p.m. Saturday, 10/24, near the Old Ridge Road entrance. He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries. Kutt was with his girlfriend at the time who said she saw a man with hunting clothes leaving the area. Police are searching for a champagne-colored Chevy S-10 Blazer, a silver Toyota Camry or Avalon, and a black Mercedes SUV that were in the area and may have additional information. As Pennsylvania continues to post record daily new positive cases of coronavirus COVID-19, officials are warning about the upcoming holiday season and traditional family gatherings. "We are recommending that people cancel their planned family holiday gatherings. We're not going to get past the epidemic by Thanksgiving, or Hanukkah or Christmas. Family gatherings right now are simply very dangerous," Philadelphia Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas Farley said. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy also discouraged planning celebrations except among those in your own household. Despite the record rise in positive cases, deaths so far have remained low.
