Woman Killed in Cobbs Creek Hit-and-Run; 25yo Injured in Stolen Dirt Bike Crash; Flyers Schedule

Philadelphia Police are investigating after a woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Cobbs Creek on Friday night, 8/21. It happened around 8:30 p.m. on Cobbs Creek Parkway near Catherine Street. 25-year-old Avante Reynolds was headed to the park and was crossing the street when she was struck by a car going northbound on the parkway. The driver fled continuing northbound. The women fell in the southbound lanes and was struck by a second vehicle. The second driver stopped at the scene. She was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and was pronounced dead a short time later. The first vehicle was damaged and left parts at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

A man is in grave condition after crashing a stolen dirt bike in Philadelphia's Logan neighborhood on Friday night, 8/21. It happened around 10 p.m. at the intersection of 4th and Bristol Streets. The 28-year-old man was apparently doing a wheelie and traveling at a high rate of speed. He disregarded a stop sign and crashed into the side of a 2013 Dodge sedan making a left onto Bristol Street. The rider was thrown several feet from the bike. He was rushed to the hospital in extremely critical condition. There were no other injuries.
