| Philadelphia 4th July Military Flyover; PA Imposes Travel Advisory 15 States; Man Dies Bodysurfing |

The Department of Defense announced that military planes will participate in a 4th of July flyover called 'Salute to the Great Cities of the American Revolution.' The planes will be flying over Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore on Saturday, 7/4. The flight will include the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, followed by B-1, B-2 and B-52 bombers, F-15 and F-22 fighters, and U.S. Marine Corps F-35 fighters. In Philadelphia, they will fly over Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell around 5:15 p.m.
Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf and state health officials announced that anyone traveling from or returning home to Pennsylvania from 15 southern and western states must self-quarantine in place for 14-days. The states identified have had high-rates of coronavirus COVID-19 infections in recent days. This does not apply to those who are simply passing through the state and maybe making a stop at a rest stop, airport, or train station. Self-quarantine requires that you isolate from other people at home or hotel and do not go out until the time has past. Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut have similar restrictions. The states include: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah.
A Pennsylvania man died while bodysurfing at the Jersey Shore on Thursday afternoon. It happened around 6:20 p.m. on the 21st Street beach in Avalon, Cape May County. The 73-year-old man from York, PA, was body surfing when a wave caused him to hit his head on the ocean floor. Avalon police, rescue, and beach patrol responded. The man was taken to Cape May County hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The Avalon Beach Patrol was off duty at the time. |
