Good Samaritan Saves Woman on SEPTA Tracks; Man Steals Car w/ 2 Children; Sixers Dance Team Bullying

A Good Samaritan came to the rescue of a woman who fell onto the tracks at a SEPTA subway station earlier this week. The incident was caught on surveillance video. It happened on the westbound side at the 15th Street Station on the Market-Frankford line. The woman can be seen carrying a lot of shopping bags and walking along the yellow line before she falls in and down to the tracks. A man in a white coat jumps down and helps her up to the platform. Another man also jumped down and helped gather her packages. The 44-year-old woman was taken to Jefferson University Hospital for treatment and was released. Always stay behind the yellow line at every SEPTA station.

Two young children were found unharmed after they were left inside a car by their mother that ended up being stolen from outside a takeout restaurant in Philadelphia. The 18-month-old girl and a 3-week-old boy were sleeping in the back seat when the mother left the car running and went inside the New China Chinese & Ameican Food restaurant at the intersection of Frankford Avenue and Harrison Street in the Frankford section of Philadelphia after 1 a.m. to pick up food. While she was inside a man stole the car with the children still inside. She called police and gave a description of the car. About 15 minutes later, police spotted the car and took the 25-year-old suspect into custody after a brief struggle. The children were not injured and slept the entire time. "At this we don't believe that the driver knew the children were in the backseat," said Chief Inspector Scott Small of the Philadelphia Police Department. The Special Victim's Unit is investigating since children were involved. Police remind parents to never leave children unattended, especially in a running car.

A former Sixers Dance team member has released a video on Instagram that shows a former dance team captain making disparaging remarks about the member and threatening to harm her physically. Yahne Coleman says that during her three year tenure on the team and even after she left, she was subjected to harmful bullying and harassment from many different people. When she tried to bring it up with her dance team coach and the broader Sixers' organization, she says nothing was done. The woman in this video is former dance team captain Anne Weiss. Now that the video has gone public, the Sixers say they will investigate. "We take this situation very seriously," a spokesperson wrote. "We intend to investigate this matter immediately and remain committed to fostering a culture of inclusion and equality." Weiss has also publicly apologized.

I was scared to release this because I was bullied and racially targeted by my 76ers NBA teammates and former Teammates. I went to my coach Dayna Haftez and the Sixers organization crying out for help so many times. I sent the video above of me being racially profiled, bullied and threatened to my coach Dayna Haftez, Lara Price the 76ers Senior Vice President of Business and HR seeking help and nothing was done. They would move my things into the bathroom stall for me to get ready for games. They would make fun of my pictures in a group chat, talking about my black features and send me videos threatening my safety. I did not want them to run me away from a dream I always wanted to accomplish so I tried my hardest to remain strong through it all. I went through this for 3 years. When I auditioned for my 4th year this group of girls called me the night before on the phone saying â€œyour BLACK ass will not be coming backâ€. I still went to the tryouts and unfortunately that was the end of my 76ers dance team career. It didnâ€™t stop there. They proceeded to harass me by calling and leaving hateful racial videos saying they would come to the slums of West Philly Ghetto and physically harm me. Iâ€™m not from the ghetto and never lived in the ghetto but because Iâ€™m black they decided to say this laughing and giggling. They went around asking about me, finding out where I worked and called my employment saying things to get me fired. I would hate for this group of women who are still working and connected to the @sixers @philadelphiaflyers to hurt another young talented black girl. Sadly, I let this racial bullying incident from this group of women deter me from my dancing career.
