| PA Requires Masks; 2 Brothers in Murderkill River; Wolf to Sign Police Reform Bills; MIA Cancelled |

Pennsylvania Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine announced a new order on Wednesday, July 1, that masks or face coverings are now mandatory anytime you leave your home. The order takes effect immediately. Masks are required indoors any public building and outdoors any place you can't maintain proper social distancing.
"It is essential that Pennsylvanians wear masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19," Levine said. "While cases increase in some areas, we cannot become complacent. My mask protects you, and your mask protects me. Wearing a mask shows that you care about others, and that you are committed to protecting the lives of those around you."
"The mask-wearing order is essential to stopping the recent increase in COVID-19 cases we have seen in Pennsylvania," Wolf said. "Those hot spots can be traced to situations where Pennsylvanians were not wearing masks or practicing social distancing - two practices that must be adhered to if we want to maintain the freedoms we have in place under our reopening."

The bodies of two brothers have been found after they went missing swimming in Kent County, Delaware on Tuesday afternoon. 21-year-old Kevin George Jr., of Philadelphia, and his 20-year-old brother Zion George, of Tennessee, were found in Murderkill River on Wednesday morning. The brothers, along with a 20-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, had gone to South Bowers on Tuesday. The three men went swimming in the Delaware Bay. They became distressed when the tide changed and the current began to pull them out and into the Murderkill River. Assistant Chief of South Bowers Beach Fire Department Michael Hignutt and his cousin, Timothy Smith, were in the area fishing and responded to the cries for help. They pulled the 20 yo man out of the water. The woman had entered the water to help the men and began to be pulled herself. Hignutt saved her too, but the brothers had disappeared. A full search was postponed Tuesday night due to darkness and picked up again on Wednesday morning. They were found around 10:30 a.m.
Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is expected to sign two police reform bills that passed both the State House and Senate unanimously last week. The first bill hopes to prevent bad officers from continuing to find employment at police department after police department. A hiring department must conduct background checks of job applicants that require an applicant's former department to disclose the officer's employment history including disciplinary actions, complaints and reasons for separation. The Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission will create a database with that information that won't be accessible to the public. The second bill requires officers to receive training every other year in how to interact with people of different racial and ethic backgrounds and to receive annual instruction on de-escalation and harm-reduction techniques. Officers who are involved in an incident where they used lethal force, they must undergo a mental health evaluation and won't return to duty until cleared.
The annual Made in America Festival has been postponed until next year. Jay Z's curated festival on Benjamin Franklin Parkway held each year over Labor Day Weekend will be scrapped this summer. Organizers say that tickets purchased for this year can be used for next year, or you can get a refund.
