Gov Wolf: Outdoor Dining/Pro Sports OK on 6/5; Man Shoots/Kills DJ Equip Thief; Man Damages Car $3k

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced on June 5, when all counties in the commonwealth move to the 'yellow' phase, that professional sports will be allowed to resume activities and restaurants will be able to offer outdoor dining. There will be some restrictions for any eatery offering outside dining. You can read all the guidelines at the bottom of the page.

Restrictions:

- Indoor areas, including bar areas, of restaurants and retail food service businesses must be closed to customers except for through-traffic. Non-bar seating in outdoor areas (i.e., tables or counter seats that do not line up to a bar or food service area) may be used for customer seating.

- Customers being served must be seated at a table.

Prohibitions are also included. The following are not permitted:

- Self-service food or drink options, such as buffets, salad bars, condiments, and drink stations.

- Condiments on tables; these must be dispensed by employees upon the request of a customer.

- Reusable menus.

- Refilling food and beverage containers or allowing implements brought in by customers.

Professional sports teams will be able to play or practice without fans in the 'yellow' or 'green' phases. Teams must have a COVID-19 safety plan that includes testing or screening and monitoring of all players and personnel. The plan must be approved by the PA Department of Health.

Philadelphia Police are investigating after a man shot and killed another man he caught stealing DJ equipment from a trailer outside his home early Wednesday morning, 5/27. It happened around 4 a.m. on the 2700 block of East Somerset Street near Edgemont Street in Port Richmond. The 37-year-old shooter was awoken by noises outside. He saw a man and a women stealing DJ equipment from of a trailer that was parked on the street. The man went out and confronted the pair. He then fired three shots. The 39-year-old male thief was hit in the shoulder and back. The female got into an SUV and drove off. The wounded male ran two blocks to Thompson Street where he met the woman and collapsed. He was pronounced dead at that location. Some of the stolen equipment was recovered from the SUV. Police are interviewing the female thief. The investigation is ongoing.

Philadelphia Police are searching for a man who allegedly caused $3,000 worth of damage to a car after he posed for pictures on top of the vehicle while it was parked in Center City earlier this month. It happened on May 13 around 5:15 p.m. on the 1800 block of Pine Street. The man was caught on surveillance video posing for pictures on the hood and roof of a white SUV while another person took photos. He is described as a black male, 20s, wearing a "Stussy" t-shirt with an 8-ball, black pants, and black and white Jordan sneakers.
