A nursing home in New Jersey is under investigation after 17 bodies were found inside the facility's small morgue. An anonymous tip and a separate request for a large number of new body bags led authorities to check out the Andover Subacute and Rehabilitation Center II in Sussex County. Officials found the bodies in bags and tagged with identification inside the morgue which was built to hold only four. They may have been stored in a shed at one point according to the anonymous tipster. Thirteen bodies were taken to a refrigerated truck at Newton Medical Center and four were left at Andover. Governor Phil Murphy addressed the incident in his daily press conference on Thursday, 4/16, "I am also outraged that bodies of the dead were allowed to pile up in a makeshift morgue at the facility," he said, adding "we can and must do better." 68 people have died inside the facility, 26 of whom tested positive for the coronavirus and 2 who were staff members.

Bucks County officials announced that county parks will reopen on Monday, April 20. Parks were closed on March 24. "Reminding you to please be smart about using parks, maintain social distancing from other people who are at the parks, the employees who are going to be there," Commissioner Bob Harvie said. Park rangers will be present to enforce social distancing guidelines, making sure people do not congregate in large groups, and are keeping enough distance from each other when engaging in activities such as running, walking, biking, etc.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced on Thursday, 4/16, that all New Jersey public schools will be closed until at least May 15 due to the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak. The more than 600 school districts in the state have been closed since March 16. Students and teachers have been engaged in remote learning. This decision includes the continued shutdown of school sports. Murphy tweeted, "We need to be guided by where the facts on the ground, science, and public health take us. That means it will not be safe to reopen our schools for at least another four weeks." Other states, including Pennsylvania, have already decided to suspend in-person school activities entirely for the rest of the academic year and to complete this year's instruction remotely. New Jersey has been one of the hardest hit areas with 75,317 positive cases and 3,518 deaths.
