The School District of Philadelphia announced that 30 sites will be serving two grab-and-go meals a day, breakfast and lunch. They will be open between 9 a.m. and noon each day. Several recreation centers will be open to youth between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and will be providing a meal at 3 p.m. (see full list below). The meal program was a large concern for Philadelphia officials in wanting to keep schools open. "We encourage any School District families interested in obtaining breakfast and lunch meals for their students to visit these meal distribution sites," said Superintendent Dr. William R. Hite. "We are eager to help support families during this difficult time and urge them to take advantage of the resources provided throughout the city." Pennsylvania Governor Wolf announced on Saturday, 3/14, that mass closings and social distancing measures would be extended to Bucks and Chester Counties starting Sunday, 3/15. That shutdown order was also extended into Delaware County on Friday, 3/13. The closures include schools, gyms, community centers and entertainment venues. All non-essential businesses are requested to be closed. Essential businesses will remain open such as health care, supermarkets, pharmacies, and gas stations. Essential services include police, fire, and emergency medical will remain available. Travel is not restricted, but officials request that you stay home and refrain from any non-essential travel.

Philadelphia police are investigating three separate murders overnight. The first victim was stabbed in Kensington on Friday night, 3/13. It happened at 8:20 p.m. on the 2800 block of Boudinot St. He was stabbed on the left side of his back. The 36-year-old died at Temple University Hospital. The second victim was shot in the Fairhill section early Saturday morning, 3/14. It happened just after midnight on the 2800 block of North Fairhill Street. The 27-year-old man was shot 12 times and died at the hospital. The third victim was stabbed in Northeast Philly early Saturday morning. It happened around 3 am on the 11000 block of Rennard Street in Somerton. Police say that the 20-year-old male was assaulted and stabbed one-time by a group of males. He was taken to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made in any of these three cases.

UPDATE: The victims have been identified. 27-year-old Anthony Glover was shot and killed in Fairhill. 20-year-old Alexander Villaran was stabbed to death in Somerton.
