The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office says that a woman embezzled over a half-million dollars from a church. 43-year-old Taisha Smith-DeJoseph of Willingboro is charged with computer criminal activity, theft by deception, and tax fraud. Smith-DeJoseph oversaw finances at Saint Paul's Baptist Church in Florence Township. She is accused of taking $561,000 over a 5 year period. She used the money to pay her car loans, rent, credit card expenses, satellite television, cell phone, online purchases, and even her wedding. She tried to hide the scheme and failed to file income tax returns for 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2018.

Police and EMTs helped deliver the first baby born in Sea Isle City in over 40 years last month. Joe and Jeanne Golato along with 3-year-old Briella decided to take a few days away at their parent's shore home in Sea Isle City, New Jersey, before the new baby arrived. Baby number 2 wasn't due for another three weeks. On Monday, January 27, Jeanne started to have some pain and told Joe to call 911. "The dad comes running out and said he saw feet, so we know it's a little more serious than the normal transport to the hospital," said Officer Steve Jankowski with the Sea Isle Police Department. Within five minutes of the first responders arrival, the baby was delivered right there in the shore house. Baby Luciana has been at Shore Medical Center in Somers Point since the delivery. She is expected to go home soon. Sea Isle City does not have a hospital. The last recorded birth was 1977.

A Chester County woman is accused of stealing more than $34,000 over a 6 month period as she worked as a caretaker for an older woman. 35-year-old Charlique Boggs is charged with charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition, Access Device Fraud, and Receiving Stolen Property. West Whiteland Township Police says that Boggs worked for the 68-year-old woman in a senior care capacity. The victim noticed that someone had withdrawn money from her account and made two car payments. Those payments were linked to Boggs. Investigators linked Boggs to other thefts from the account. Bail was set at $50,000.
