Suspects Caused Panic in Warminster Walmart; New Philly Commish Danielle Outlaw Starts Monday

Warminster Township Police in Bucks County are looking for several suspects wanted for causing a panic inside a Walmart after yelling that there was an active shooter in the store on Saturday afternoon. 2/8. It happened around 1:45 p.m. at the store at 100 E. Street Road. Police say they are looking for at least four men. After they entered the store they began yelling things like like 'active shooter,' 'gun,' and, 'get down on the ground.' Panicked shoppers and staff began to run out of the store. The group left the store with a female. They drove off in a light blue or silver Nissan Rogue with PA license plate KCT-3096. If you have any information, contact police at (215) 672-1000.

Philadelphia's new permanent police commissioner will start work on Monday, 2/10. 43-year-old Danielle Outlaw is stepping into the role after two years heading up Portland's force. Former commissioner Richard Ross abruptly resigned last summer amid questions on his handling of sexual harassment claims inside the department. Outlaw comes to Philadelphia and takes the reigns from Acting Commissioner Christine Coulter as the first black female to lead the 6,500 member department. Coulter herself had been the first ever female. Outlaw must contend with the ongoing internal sexual harassment issues while tackling the growing violence and drug problems facing the city. The beginning of 2020 has seen about a homicide per day. The opioid epidemic is still running high. "I appointed Commissioner Outlaw because she has the conviction, courage, and compassion needed to bring long-overdue reform to the Department," Mayor Kenney in a statement. "With our support, she will tackle a host of difficult issues like racism and gender discrimination, while leading our administration's top priority of reducing the gun violence that plagues our city."
