Man Wanted for Child Rape in Chester Co.; Victim Tied Up in Home Invasion; NJ Final Voting Day

Pennsylvania State Police are looking for a man wanted for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl last month in Chester County. 41-year-old Erick Becerril-Perez is accused of raping the girl inside her home in London Grove Township on December 28, 2019. He is also accused of inappropriately touching the girl multiple times over the past two years. The December assault was reported to police on January 7th, 2020. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. If you have any information contact state police at 610-268-2022.

Philadelphia Police are investigating a home invasion robbery in Overbrook on Monday afternoon, 1/13. It happened around 3 p.m. on the 5400 block of West Montgomery Avenue. Three men forced their way in an elderly woman's home when she answered the door. They asked for money. The men went upstairs and broke into a locked bedroom. They tied up and blindfolded the woman's 20-year-old granddaughter inside. The suspects fled in a gray or silver Chevy Malibu with an unknown amount of cash. No one was injured. Monday, 1/13, was the final day of voting of this legislative session in the New Jersey Assembly and Senate. There were several pieces of legislation of note being voted on including those related to vaping, vaccines, and plastic bags. Around 1,000 people demonstrated outside the State House in Trenton. They hoped that the Senate would vote against a bill that would remove religious exemptions from school-mandated vaccinations. The bill had already passed the Assembly. However, the bill ended up being withdrawn without a vote. It will have to be reintroduced in the next legislative session.

A bill banning the sale of vaping products passed both the Senate and Assembly. It will now go to Governor Phil Murphy's desk.

A bill banning single-use plastic bags and more passed the Senate but did not get a vote in the Assembly. That bill will have to be reintroduced in the next legislative session. The bill would have banned stores from giving customers plastic bags. It also banned straws and foam takeout containers. The bill also included single-use paper bags, which was a matter of contention in the Assembly.
