Two Philadelphia police officers and one civilian were injured in a head-on crash in the city's Logan section late Saturday night, 12/7. It happened just before midnight on the 1500 block of Windrim Avenue. Police officers were traveling on Windrim in their marked SUV near W. Rockland when the other driver crossed the median and crash straight into them. All three injured were taken to nearby Einstein Medical Center, but they are expected to be ok. The crash remains under investigation.

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced today, 12/8, that Reverend Monsignor Joseph L. Logrip has been found 'unsuitable' for ministry following an investigation into a new allegation of sexual abuse. "Reverend Monsignor Joseph L. Logrip was placed on administrative leave and his priestly faculties were restricted in January 2019 following an allegation that he sexually abused a minor in the early 1980s. That allegation has been substantiated and he has been found unsuitable for ministry," the Archdiocese said in a statement. Logrip had previously been accused and subsequently suspended when the 2011 grand jury report was released. In 2014, Logtrip was found "suitable for ministry based on an unsubstantiated allegation of sexual abuse of a minor." The new allegation was received by the Archdiocese in late 2018 concerning abuse of a minor in the early 80s. No criminal charges have been filed.

Police are investigating the sudden death of an infant in Southwest Philadelphia on Saturday night, 12/7. Paramedics responded around 8:30 p.m. to the 1600 block of South Wilton Street in the city's Kingsessing neighborhood. The unresponsive 6-month-old was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The baby died a short time later. The Special Victims Unit is investigating, but police do say at this time the death does not look suspicious.
