Horsham Man Charged w/ Child Porn; Charges Against Mariner Pipeline; State Police Chase Crash

A Montgomery County man has been arrested after child pornography was found on both his cell phone and computer. 19-year-old Brian Groo of Horsham is charged with 167 felony counts related to possessing and distributing child pornography. The National Center of Missing and Exploited Children tipped off officials back in September. They said Groo had uploaded files to a Dropbox account allegedly showing sex acts between an adult and a 10-year-old child. The IP address used in that upload was traced back to Groo's residence. Authorities found hundreds of images of child pornography on his cell phone and more files on his Dropbox account. He was remanded to Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 cash bail.

The Chester County District Attorney's office has charged employees of Energy Transfer, the owner's of the Mariner Pipeline, as well as employees of security companies hired by them. They are accused of hiring sworn Pennsylvania constables to provide security at pipeline sites in Chester County. "State Constables sold their badges and official authority. Energy Transfer bought those badges and authority, then used them as a weapon to intimidate citizens," said Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan. In response, "We have learned that an employee was arraigned this morning and charged with alleged wrongdoing related to the hiring of Pennsylvania constablesâ€”sworn law enforcement officialsâ€”at Energy Transferâ€™s expense," Energy Transfer said in a statement. "We believe that these charges do not have any merit and find it troubling that District Attorney Tom Hogan would proceed with charges that we are confident will not stand, creating far-reaching impacts for this employee and his family."

A police chase involving the Pennsylvania State Police ended with a multi-car accident in the Germantown neighborhood on Tuesday, 12/3. It happened around 4:20 p.m. on the 5200 block of Morris Street. One vehicle ended up on top of another. Two people were injured. A child was taken to St. Christopherâ€™s Children for Hospital. The other person was taken to Einstein Medical Center.
